5-in-1 viewing service will feature a growing inventory of 4K titles available on Samsung UHD TVs.

Discovery Canada, a joint venture between Bell Media and Discovery Communications, has announced that its premium video streaming service Discovery GO will now offer customers the ultimate viewing experience - 4K Ultra HD.

Ken MacDonald, Vice-President and General Manager, Discovery, said:

We are excited to reaffirm Discovery Canada's leading role in offering viewers the very best from today's technological innovations. We were first to offer a unique High Definition schedule, and now are at the forefront of this new resolution revolution with a growing slate of world-class Discovery content presented on Discovery GO in beautifully vivid 4K Ultra HD.

Deployed using Massive AXIS MDK, a scalable multiscreen application management and user interface configuration platform, Discovery GO will now stream select titles in 4K on Samsung UHD TVs. Canadians need simply to download the app from the SmartHub store on their device to enjoy Discovery GO's 4K titles.

Ron Downey, CEO at Massive Interactive, said:

Deploying Discovery Go on Samsung UHD TVs was a strong move by Bell Media. They always lead the way. Naturally we're glad that they elected to use the Massive AXIS platform to do so.

Discovery Canada also confirmed that the brand's first original scripted drama Frontier, starring Jason Momoa (Game of Thrones, Aquaman), is currently shooting in 4K and will be made available later this year as the service's UHD inventory continues to expand.
