London, UK – Thursday 24th May 2018 - Massive, the leading specialist UX vendor for the OTT industry, today announced that former NBCUniversal and Verizon executive Chip Canter has joined the company as Global Chief Revenue Officer. Canter has a strong history of driving sustainable growth and bottom-line impact for OTT media companies and brings more than 20 years of strategy, business development, and product expertise to the role. As CRO, his focus will be on leading Massive’s global sales, business development and marketing growth strategy, as well as working closely with the product team on the company’s go-to-market offering.

Canter was with NBCUniversal for more than a decade where he held several executive positions, including SVP of Product and Business Development for NBCU’s Digital Distribution Group.  Most recently, Canter was General Manager of Verizon's Digital Entertainment businesses.

The new hire follows Massive’s fast-paced global growth over the past 24 months and underscores the company’s focus on the US market. Massive has acquired several new tier-one broadcaster and telco customers during this period, with a particular focus on the Americas and Asia in 2018. Canter is based out of Massive’s New York office. Here, he will be involved in the company’s expansion of its presence in the US and will bring a valuable blend of broadcast and telco expertise to Massive as it continues to accelerate its global expansion and drive innovation.

Commenting on the new appointment Massive CEO, Ron Downey, said:

Few people understand our market landscape and technology environment like Chip does. He has dealt with the pressures faced by OTT businesses and has first-hand experience working with global media companies. Chip joins us at a time of unprecedented growth and change – both in our company and in our market - and there’s no doubt he will prove to be a valuable asset in helping Massive double down on its recent expansion and success.

Canter added:

“Massive has the best product proposition for helping broadcasters, content owners, mobile operators and telcos give their video customers what they want in more engaging packages, and the company’s approach to personalisation and flexible real-time UX management has helped it go from strength to strength in recent years.

“The changing media landscape has shown how more targeted personalisation and a platform to drive real-time UX changes to drive engagement, customer acquisition, revenue growth and multiple business models, and churn reduction is necessary for making an OTT platform a success, and it’s a challenge that’s going to become all the more difficult in the future. I’m pleased to be a part of Massive’s journey in working to address that.”
